The Mission of ESD 2 is to be the leading emergency service district by meeting the needs of our community in fire prevention, fire suppression, rescue operations, and emergency medical response in the most effective manner possible.
The Vision of ESD 2 is to utilize and improve the skills and dedication of
our staff and volunteers and to constantly improve operations and services
for the citizens of Smith County
ESD 2’s Organizational Values are:
- Provide a safe, healthful, and environmentally responsible emergency response system.
- Promote teamwork and support staff with adequate resources to attain superior performance.
- Meet and/or exceed local, state, and federal emergency service agency standards.
- Use a progressive operational model to facilitate superior service levels and administrative controls within available resources.

Notice about Statistics
The statistics listed below are directly from our records management system (RMS) and only reflect incidents that accrued after we switched to the RMS in July of 2019. Additionally, the incidents listed only included completed and quality-approved reports. Typically, reports take anywhere from a few hours to a few weeks to be completed and approved depending on the nature and scale of the incident.
